In groups 1 and 2, building a basic vocabulary, learning to understand the target language, and speaking at the word level are important. Children learn through play, and oral communication and language comprehension are central.
In groups 3 and 4, the foundation laid in the preschool years is built upon, gradually transitioning from listening to speaking. In this phase, vocabulary expansion, understanding and speaking short sentences (sentence comprehension), and short stories (text comprehension), as well as the development of speaking skills, are central.
In groups 5 and 6, the transition from oral to written language skills occurs. Reading and writing also gradually come into play (in a simple and structured manner). At this age, it is possible to set up an EFLE project with foreign schools, which proves to be a significant motivator for learning to write well in the target language.
In groups 7 and 8, written language skills (reading and writing) are further expanded, and the focus shifts to active written language use. All four language skills are now intensively practiced, with an emphasis on functional, everyday language use. Grammar in the foreign language is also taught, with practical application being central.
