Da Vinci

At the Europaschool, we use the Da Vinci method to provide theme-based lessons. In addition to regular classes, students participate in theme-oriented lessons, focusing on a specific topic. For the younger children, this is related to the seasons. In the middle and upper grades, three themes are initially covered each year. The upper grades work with significant cultures in history.

Children's Book Week

Every year in October, we participate in Children's Book Week. Based on the theme set each year for the Children's Book Week, the entire school takes part. In collaboration with a bookstore, we organize a book sale in the school lobby, a portion of the proceeds of which goes to the school. This money is used to purchase books for the school library. Students from the upper grades, together with a number of parents, are responsible for the sales. A book exchange fair for the children is also organized in the school auditorium, where children can choose a different book for each book they bring.

Country Project

At the end of each school year, we always organize the Country Project (Landenproject). During these weeks, each group focuses on a specific country. This is a theme that the entire school works on during the same period.

We conclude the Country Project (Landenproject) together on the last day with Country Day (Landendag). On this day, all groups showcase what they have learned, and we sell homemade foods from each country at a large market on the schoolyard. The proceeds from Country Day (Landendag) are used by the school for additional resources. The market is combined with the End Party to celebrate the end of the school year.
