A Glimpse of the Europaschool
The Europaschool in Amsterdam South is a primary school known for its international orientation and unique educational concept. Since its establishment in 1992, the school has maintained a strong focus on international orientation. In addition to the standard primary education, students at the Europa School receive lessons from the age of four in a different European language and culture: English, Spanish, or French. The school uses modern teaching methods, including the DaVinci Method, which focuses on thematic learning across subjects. This creates a unique educational concept for the Europaschool.
The school population is highly diverse. In total, the school community includes families from over 40 nationalities. This cultural variety reflects the international character of the school, making it a popular choice for families across different neighborhoods in Amsterdam.
Newcomers' Class
Since January 2014, the Europaschool has a Newcomers' Class. This class caters to primary school children aged 6 and older who do not speak Dutch yet. They receive lessons in various subjects, but the primary focus is on learning Dutch. Once their Dutch proficiency reaches a sufficient level, they can move on to a regular class.
Citizenship
The concept of "citizenship" forms the foundation of our vision: where many cultures come together to form a single community, both consciously and unconsciously, we work toward shaping individuals who can navigate a complex and multicultural society.
Groep 8B in the Jeugdjournaal!
The Jeugdjournaal made recordings following our complaint about gender-stereotyped sentences in the spelling method.
Our class received 7 thematic atlases as a gift from the regional representative. This representative visited our class, sending a signal to all educational book publishers!
